The Golden stool, (Sika Adwa in Akan Language) is a sacred symbol believed to embody the soul and spirit of the Ashanti ethnic group in Ghana. The Ashanti people are part of the Akan Ethnic groups that live in Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, and Togo.

Ashanti’s political, Military, and spiritual foundation, led by a queen mother called Yaa Asantewaah, defeated the British in 1901. The Name Golden Stool was adopted here in Kenya to display the culture of these courageous people who served their communities well.
