Welcome to Shamba Café & Shop, a farm-to-table restaurant nestled inside the University of Nairobi’s College of Agriculture and Veterinary Science. We sit on a peaceful 2 acre plot within a 500 acre working farm, just a short drive from central Nairobi. Surrounded by nature, Shamba is a fresh air escape where good food, great company, and community come together.

We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Tuesday through Sunday. On weekends, we offer a lively brunch, and our kitchen opens daily at 9 am except Mondays, when we close to rest and reset. Our menu changes often, with weekly specials, wood fired pizzas, and a weekend BBQ that’s hard to beat.

Our bar is fully stocked with all the essentials, including a wide wine selection and a rotating list of creative cocktails to pair with your meal.

At Shamba, we go beyond the plate. Our on site shop features locally sourced products, including items from the University itself. You can take home house-made delicacies, seasonal produce, and a bit of the farm’s charm.

For those with green thumbs, our garden center offers herbs, seedlings, potted plants, worm bins, and organic soil boosters—everything you need to grow your own patch of Shamba at home.

We’re a family-friendly place with plenty of room for kids to play and explore. Dogs are welcome too, with a designated run so they can enjoy the space as much as you do. We offer both indoor seating and open garden tables for a more relaxed, picnic-style meal.

Every Saturday, our farmers’ market brings together local growers and artisans. And every Wednesday, you can shop organic vegetables straight from EcoScapes in Naivasha.
