Description
Diani Turtle Watch
Diani Turtle Watch is a sea turtle conservation program based on Kenya’s southern coast. Since 2012, we’ve worked to protect sea turtles along the Diani Chale Marine National Reserve through direct action, research, and community involvement.
Our mission is simple: to ensure the survival of these endangered marine creatures by protecting their nesting sites, monitoring their movements, and raising awareness about the threats they face.
We operate under Local Ocean Conservation and collaborate closely with local communities, fishermen, schools, and volunteers. Our work includes nest monitoring, responding to turtle strandings, and educating the public on marine conservation. All of this happens from our base at the Marine Education Centre inside The Sands at Nomad.
At Diani Turtle Watch, we believe conservation starts with connection. That’s why we welcome anyone from curious visitors to dedicated researchers to learn more, get involved, and join us in protecting sea turtles for generations to come.
